Tend terms of service

Who you are contracting with
Tend is built and run by Rui Luis, a solo founder, at tendladder.com. "We" and "us" below mean exactly that one person.
What Tend is
Tend is a hosted relationship manager: it organises the people in your network around the goals you are working toward, captures interactions from channels you connect, and uses AI to suggest who to talk to and what to say. It is a tool that gives you advice and drafts. It does not act on your behalf, and it never sends anything to anyone for you.
The features page marks what is shipped, what is Beta (usable today, rough edges), and what is Planned (on the roadmap, no date). Only what is marked shipped is promised by these terms. Planned means intended, not owed.
Your account
- You need a working email address; sign-in is a one-time link, so whoever can read that inbox can reach your account. Keep it secure.
- An account is for one person. You may not share logins or resell access.
- You must be 16 or older and able to enter a contract.
Your data and your responsibilities
Your contacts, notes, goals, and history remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you — to store that data, process it to produce the features you use, and send the relevant parts to our AI provider when you run an AI feature. We do not use it to train models, and we do not use it for any purpose other than serving you. See the privacy policy for the detail.
You agree that you will:
- Only put in personal data you have a lawful reason to hold, and honour the requests your contacts make to you about it.
- Respect the terms of the services you connect. Tend's LinkedIn capture is deliberately manual and per-click for this reason; do not try to turn it into bulk collection.
- Not use Tend for spam, mass unsolicited outreach, harassment, or anything unlawful.
- Not attempt to break, bypass, or game the credit metering, rate limits, or another account's isolation.
AI output
Audits, suggestions, drafts, and briefs are generated by an AI model reasoning over your own data. They can be wrong, out of date, or confidently mistaken about a person. Cited receipts are there so you can check the claim against the interaction it came from — check them. You decide what to send and to whom, and you are responsible for what you send. Nothing Tend produces is legal, financial, or professional advice.
Plans, credits, and payment
- Free — capture, contacts, groups, search, timelines, reminders, and cadences. No card, no credit allowance, nothing to cancel.
- Tend — $49 a month, including 200 credits a month (about 20 goal audits). Or $39 a month billed annually — $468 a year. Annual is a payment term, not a bigger plan: the allowance stays 200 credits a month either way.
- Credits are how AI work is counted. Each feature costs a fixed number of credits, shown in the app, so the same action never costs different amounts on different days. The monthly allowance is a ceiling, not a target — unused monthly credits do not roll over, and nothing is charged for leaving them unused.
- Top-ups: 50 credits for $15, and they never expire. Your monthly allowance is always spent first, so a top-up is only drawn on once the month's credits are gone.
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are.
How you actually pay today. There is no self-serve checkout yet. Paid accounts are invoiced by hand, and nothing recurs automatically — no card is stored and no subscription renews itself until we build checkout and tell you it exists. Practically: you will never be charged an amount you did not agree to in writing first.
Cancelling and refunds
- Cancel any time by emailing us, or by deleting your account in Settings.
- Monthly: cancelling stops the next invoice. The month you have already paid for runs to its end.
- Annual: we refund the unused whole months. No argument, no exit interview.
- Consumers in the EU and UK keep their statutory withdrawal rights, which these terms do not reduce.
- If something goes materially wrong on our side and you paid for a month you could not use, tell us and we will make it right.
Price changes
The price is the same for everyone. If it changes, you will be told before it applies to you, and the term you already paid for is honoured at the price you paid. Feature credit costs can change as the underlying models change; material changes are announced, not slipped in.
Availability
Tend is run by one person. There is no uptime guarantee and no support SLA — email gets a real answer, usually quickly, but it is one inbox. Features may change, and a feature may be withdrawn if it stops making sense; if that materially affects what you are paying for, you will be told, and the refund terms above apply. If Tend ever shuts down, you get notice and time to export everything before anything is deleted.
Suspension and termination
You can leave at any time; deleting your account removes your data immediately and permanently, as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account for non-payment after a reminder, or immediately for abuse — using Tend to spam or harass people, attacking the service, or breaking the law with it. If we close your account for anything other than abuse, you get your data first.
No warranty, and the limit of what we owe
Tend is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its AI output will be accurate or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost business, lost opportunities, lost profits — and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose (or $50 if you are on the free plan). Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud, death, or personal injury, and none of it reduces the statutory rights of consumers.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, the effective date above changes and account holders are emailed before the change applies. Continuing to use Tend after that means you accept the new version.
Disputes and governing law
Talk to us first — email ruimluis7@gmail.com and almost anything is solvable without a process. Until Tend's operating entity is registered, these terms do not nominate a governing law or an exclusive forum, and neither side waives the mandatory protections of the place they live: consumers keep the right to bring a claim in their own country's courts under their own law. This section will be replaced with a specific governing law once the entity exists, and account holders will be told when that happens.
